An exhibition game between CBA club Jilin Northeast Tigers and a star team from the United States is expected to boost enthusiasm for the sport in the Inner Mongolia autonomous region on Oct 3.
Jointly organized by the Chinese Basketball Association, the Sino-American Friendship Association and Hohhot Sports Bureau, the match will take place at 7:30 pm at the Inner Mongolia Stadium in Hohhot, the region's capital city.
The visiting team will feature some of Yao Ming's former Houston Rockets teammates, including Rafer Alston, Bonzi Wells and Cuttino Mobley, as well as former Sacramento Kings' All Star guard Jason Williams.
In addition to the game, the organizers will also introduce local art shows, hoop-themed carnival activities, fan-engaging events and charity programs during the pre-game training sessions and the half-time break.
