Xi-Obama meeting preview

Presidents Xi Jinping and Barack Obama on June 7th and 8th are having a "shirt-sleeves" summit in California that is unusually informal for a meeting of China and US leaders. The agenda is packed with topics reflecting the countries' expanding relationship, one with a lot of promise but also considerable mistrust - over trade practices, claims of cyber hacking, military aims and the Korean Peninsula.

Despite the challenges, the leaders were poised to discuss making their nations' relationship one that defies history and avoids a march toward conflict. Xi and Obama were also likely to get to know each other better.
