Survival in Shanghai, a documentary produced by Shanghai Media Group telling the story of how Shanghai helped shelter Jewish refugees during World War II, was screened at the Temple Emanu-El Streicker Center in Manhattan on Wednesday. From left: Ellen Chaim Kracko, a Jewish refugee who lived in Shanghai; Orville Schell, director of the Center on US-China Relations of Asia Society; Betty Grebenschikoff and Evelyn Pike Rubin, Jewish survivors who lived in Shanghai and are also interviewed in the fi lm; and Qin Gao, professor and director of the China Center for Social Policy at Columbia University, join a post-screening panel discussion.
