TEHRAN - Shooting inside the Majlis (parliament) of Iran on Wednesday morning has led to death of at least eight people, state IRIB TV reported.

In the attack, at least 10 others were injured who have been taken to the hospitals.

Four armed people entered the Majlis on Wednesday morning and started shooting, Akbar Ranjbarzadeh, the lawmaker, told state IRIB TV.

The assailants are still inside the Majlis and have entered the offices of some lawmakers, Ranjbarzadeh was quoted as saying.

The assailants have taken some hostages inside the Majlis, official IRNA news agency said.

One of the attackers blasted his explosive belt on the fourth floor of the Majlis, IRIB TV said but did not elaborate.

Several ambulances and firefighting equipment have been dispatched to the area to help the wounded people.

Also, Iran's Intelligence Ministry said that another terrorist team was busted before doing any action in Tehran on Wednesday.
