Zimbabwe's ruling party fires Mugabe, appoints former VP as new leader: party sources

HARARE -- Zimbabwe's ruling ZANU-PF party on Sunday sacked President Robert Mugabe as its leader and appointed former Vice President Emmerson Mnangagwa as his replacement, party sources told Xinhua.
