CPC congress of great importance to China, world

BEIJING - The 18th CPC National Congress of is of great importance to both China and the rest of the world, foreign political personages said in interviews with Xinhua.
In an interview with Xinhua on the eve of the party congress, Afghanistan's second Vice President Mohammad Karim Khalili said that the strength, prestige and reputation that China has gained under the leadership of the Communist Party of China (CPC) over the past decades in the comity of nations would further grow in the years ahead.
Describing the CPC congress as a significant and important event in China, the Afghan vice president said that the congress will bring changes in the top leadership that will be historic for the CPC as well as the government.
He noted the changes will not affect China-Afghanistan relations.
"I think definitely, there will be changes in the top leadership of China after the upcoming event, but those changes will not affect the friendship between Afghanistan and China; rather, it will further enhance the friendly ties between two countries," Khalili said.
In a recent interview with Xinhua in Rabat, Mohamed Yatim, vice president of Morocco's House of Representatives, said that the party congress will create new prospects for China's economic growth and further development.
He expressed belief that that the CPC congress, which would outline China's future development strategy, is a very significant event for sustained development of modern China.
Under the leadership of the CPC, the Chinese people have scored remarkable achievements in economic and social development in the past three decades and the country is now a major driver of the world economy and also a nation of global strategic significance, said Yatim.
China could also take great pride in the fact that it has managed to preserve its culture and historical tradition while making great strides in economic development, he said.
The comprehensive development strategy to be unveiled by the CPC at the congress would lead the Chinese people to even greater achievements, he added.
China is playing a big role in promoting world peace and global cooperation, Yatim said. And the CPC congress will have significant impact on China as well as the whole world.
Luc Frieden, finance minister of Luxembourg, said in a recent interview with Xinha that China is a country with great potential and Luxembourg hopes to see a more open China in the future.
Voicing his anticipation for the CPC congress, Frieden voiced hope that China will continue to deepen reform so as to better incorporate it into the world.
Appreciating China's role in coping with the European debt crisis, he said that China has bolstered confidence in Europe's future and its support is of great importance to Europe.
Frieden expressed full confidence that China's new leadership will earnestly assume a leading role in international affairs.
