The 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China is being held at the critical juncture of deepening reform and opening-up, transformation of the economic development model and building of a moderately prosperous society. The congress, therefore, is expected to expedite these processes, says an article on Romania-China.ro. Excerpts:
A total of 2,270 delegates from across the country attend the 18th National Congress of the CPC.
The percentage of grassroots delegates attending the congress is 32.2 percentage points higher than the last one in 2007. The rest of the 68 percent delegates will be leaders and cadres
In addition, more measures have been taken to publicize democracy in order to encourage wider voter participation.
The move to increase the number of grassroots delegates has been taken to ensure that the congress is best-represented by CPC members.
