BEIJING - The Chinese subsidiary of Chrysler will recall cars on the Chinese mainland over flaws that may lead to fires, the country's quality watchdog said on Friday.
It will involve 25,505 imported Grand Cherokees produced between Jan 1, 2011, and Dec 11, 2013, the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine said in an online statement.
Cords in the vehicles' sun visors may lead to short circuits or fires, the statement said.
The recall will start on Oct 20 and the company will replace the flawed cords free of charge, the statement said.
