Developer builds illegal villa office
A European-style luxury villa built in a public green space in a community in Pudong New Area of Shanghai, turned out to be the office building of the real estate developer, xinmin.cn reported on Wednesday.
According to regulations, only management rooms can be built on public green space, and such areas can only take up 3% of total floor area. Relevant authorities have been investigating the case.
A former report quoting workers on the construction site said that the building used the best materials and might have cost 100 million yuan ($16.12 million).
Crystal chandeliers, spiral staircases and luxury baths are among interior fixtures of the villa.
