HANGZHOU - China's e-commerce giant Alibaba Group on Thursday signed an agreement with Qiwi Wallet, a Russian online payment company, allowing Russian customers to pay through Qiwi for products offered at its online shops.
Russian buyers can purchase products at AliExpress, Alibaba's store branch, through Qiwi Wallet.
Russian Internet users buy more than 4,000 kinds of products on AliExpress every day. Computer displays, cell phones and recording equipment are the top three sellers, according to Alibaba statistics.
AliExpress, established in 2000, is an online cross-border trading platform. Before foreign buyers had to solely rely on credit cards to make transactions.
