Beijing housing sales enjoy 9-percent growth

Beijing housing prices in the first half of June continued to warm up, with sales growth over the previous month and the same period of last year.
The number of registered house purchases in the first half of June hit 10,576, representing a 9-percent month-on-month growth and 46.5-percent year-on-year growth, statistics from Beijing's Housing and Urban-Rural Development Bureau showed.
Of these purchases, secondhand houses still take a larger share, with 6,150 sold, a growth of 22.4-percent over the previous month. There were 4,426 new houses sold, a 5.4-precent drop over the previous month.
Statistics from property brokerage 5i5j Real Estate showed that average residential houses prices in the first half of June hit 21,364 yuan per square meters, up 3.7 percent over the previous month.
Forward delivery housing prices also rose. Of the 76 projects in this sector, 21 projects, or 28 percent, closed at higher prices, statistics from Homelink Real Estate showed.
