China Mobile Ltd and China UnionPay plan to explore new mobile payment methods, according to an agreement the two signed late last month in Shanghai.
The two are planning to launch mobile payment tools in more than 50 cities across the country, which will enable mobile phone users to pay via their cell phones.
China UnionPay, the country's sole domestic bank card organization, has nearly 300 members.
