Zhangzhou promotes foreign investment in key projects

Fujian province's Zhangzhou city held a conference in Beijing on Monday to attract more international investment from top 500 global companies.
The city plans to launch 135 key investment projects this year and next year, including 80 industrial projects in the petrochemical, steel, equipment manufacturing and food industry sectors with an expected investment of 113.30 billion yuan ($19 billion).
It also plans to launch 20 modern service industry projects with an expected investment of 11.65 billion yuan, 23 tourism projects with an expected investment of 26.36 billion yuan and 12 infrastructure projects with an expected investment of 26.64 billion yuan.
From 2007 to 2011, foreign investment in Zhangzhou has increased from $450 million to $887 million. The annual growth rate has exceeded 18 percent and nearly doubled in the past five years.
