ZTE Corp, a key player in China's telecom equipment industry, prepared to invest 700 million euros in a project to create Greece's high-speed Internet network, Athens-based Imerisia reported, without saying how it got the information.
The investment would mean ZTE taking control of a fibre optic network, reaching 1.2 million households, it said.
Greece is actively seeking investors for internet upgrade projects.
