Dongguan high-tech exports rise

Nearly 40 percent of exports in the first quarter this year in Dongguan, Guangdong province were from the high-tech industries, local authorities said.
Exports of high-tech products in Dongguan, a traditional manufacturing base on the Pearl River Delta, rose 20.3 percent year-on-year in the first quarter, sources with the local foreign trade and economic bureau said.
The city’s foreign trade increased 6.8 percent year-on-year to reach some $32.8 billion in the quarter, with exports rising 9.1 percent to $19.3 billion.
