China has become a source of inspiration for online stars in neighboring Russia, helping them attract hundreds of thousands of fans on social media and sometimes, make a fortune.
Russian citizen Kase Gasanov has garnered nearly 100,000 clicks for his latest video on YouTube by tasting six kinds of Chinese convenient foods, including instant Seafood noodles and suanlafen, sour and spicy rice noodles from Southwest China's Sichuan province.
After a sip of the suanlafen soup, Gasanov, in his Russian-language clip, described the popular snack as the "taste of hell". But after finishing the whole bowl, he admitted that it was actually quite tasty.
Most of the videos made by Gasanov, who lives in China's Guangzhou and boasts 150,000 fans on YouTube, are related to his daily life in China. He said he hoped to be a bridge linking Russia and China.
