China reviews anti-dumping duties on ROK polysilicon

Xinhua | Updated: 2016-11-23 09:56

BEIJING - China's Ministry of Commerce (MOC) decided Tuesday to review anti-dumping measures it imposed on solar-grade polysilicon imports from the Republic of Korea (ROK).

The move was in response to domestic producers' application for a reexamination of the duties, claiming ROK firms have increased dumping activities on the Chinese market, according to a statement on the ministry's website.

The review will cover the period from Jan 1, 2015 to Dec 31, 2015.

China slapped five-year duties on polysilicon imports from the United States and ROK in 2014. The rates for imports from the ROK are set between 2.4 percent to 48.7 percent.

Solar-grade polysilicon is an important material for making solar cells, a sector fraught with trade disputes.
