Israel expects more Chinese investments in new projects
JERUSALEM - With the further deepening of cooperation on roads, rails and infrastructures between Israel and China, Israel hopes that more Chinese enterprises can come to take part in new projects here, Israel Katz, Minister of Transport, National Infrastructures and Road Safety, said here recently.
Katz made the remarks while meeting a delegation of journalists from China. Stressing that China is a very important country for Israel, Katz believes that the two countries have ample space for further cooperation.
Chinese enterprises are involved in several big national projects in Israel, including the construction of the first Tel Aviv Light Rail and the Ashdod Harbour, said Katz, who noted that the Chinese enterprises doing investments in Israel are now enjoying a sound relationship with their Israeli partners.
While stressing that Israel welcomes more Chinese investments in transport programs, Katz also wishes that such cooperation can expand to other areas to uplift the development of the country.
Katz also expressed hope that the Belt and Road Initiative could push forward a variety of cooperation on transportation between Israel and other countries.
