10 dead in van accident in SW China

GUIYANG -- Ten people died and two others were seriously injured when their van veered off the road in Southwest China's Guizhou province Saturday, local authorities said.
The accident happened at around 2:40 pm Saturday in Xinghua township, Rongjiang county. The van with a designed capacity of eight people was carrying 13 when the accident happened, county publicity officials said.
The injured people are receiving treatment in hospital.
Investigation into the cause of the accident is underway.
