BEIJING - China on Sunday unveiled the 20 winners of the 11th Taofen Publishing Award, China's top award for individuals in the publishing sector.
Most of the laureates, four of whom are female, are senior editors or managers at renowned publishing groups, including Fan Xi'an, general manager of SDX Joint Publishing Company.
The award was named after Zou Taofen, also known as Tsou Tao-fen (1895-1944), an outstanding Chinese journalist and publisher.
Zou was also the co-founder of Shenghuo Bookstore, one of the predecessors of SDX -- the "S" stands for Shenghuo.
The Taofen Publishing Award was founded in 1984, and was first presented in 1987 to 10 laureates.
Each winner received a prize of 10,000 yuan ($1,588) at Sunday's ceremony.
