Parts of the Long March 3B Launch Vehicle Satellite fell in Suining county, Hunan province, damaging houses and a 10 kilo-volt high-voltage line overnight on May 27, Xiaoxiang Morning Post reported.

Losses suffered by locals will be compensated according to State compensation rules.

A worker with a local electricity supply station said that residents heard a big boom at 00:03 am Sunday.

A piece of wreckage weighing about 30 kilograms fell from the sky, damaging the high-volt line and causing an immediate electrical failure. A villager suffered a shock when touching the wreckage, probably caused by static electricity, the worker said.
