Police from Huanggang city in Central China's Hubei province cracked down on a six- member criminal group who were selling special radio receivers to students who planned to cheat on their National College Entrance Exams.

The police seized a laptop, a radio transmitter set, two internal phones and five radio receivers.

"Further investigations are underway. We have to dig out where the group bought this equipment," an officer said.

A buyer surnamed Guo said they were asked to pay 3,000 yuan($470.49) as down payment for the 15,000 yuan worth of radio equipment as well as fees for every subject on the National College Entrance Exam.

For most Chinese students, the annual exam is their only shot at college enrollment and can even decide what job they can get after graduation.
