BEIJING - Officials and representatives of enterprises from China and the United States on Wednesday gathered in Beijing for a forum on energy efficiency.
The forum, co-hosted by China's National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) and the US Department of Energy, offered a platform for the two countries to deepen cooperation in energy conservation.
The National Energy Conservation Center and the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development signed agreements with US institutes and enterprises concerning joint efforts in conserving energy.
Xie Zhenhua, deputy director of the NDRC, said the two countries have both benefited from cooperation in the sector.
Representatives from both sides also exchanged views on energy efficiency in construction and industrial production, market mechanisms for efficient energy services and energy efficiency standards.
The forum has been held annually since 2010.
