Residential area blast kills 2 in NE China

HARBIN - An explosion occurred Wednesday morning in a residential area in northeast China's Heilongjiang province, killing at least two people so far, local authorities said.
The accident, which occurred in the city of Yichun, was likely caused by a gas container that exploded in one of the residents' homes, according to a source familiar with the accident.
Rescue operations are under way.
