A Beijing parking attendant was beaten and stabbed in the arm after he confronted the driver of a sports car who had blocked the entrance to a parking lot.

The attack occurred in the afternoon of July 28, south of Shilihe Bridge in Chaoyang district.

Wang, the victim, confronted the driver and a passenger of a white Maserati after they parked in a way that blocked the road to traffic. The duo responded by insulting him and then walked into a nearby office building, Beijing Times reported on July 31.

About 10 minutes later, Wang asked the two to apologize to him as they came out of the building, but was again refused.

According to a witness identified only as Jia, one of the two men punched Wang in the face and another stabbed him in the left arm with a 40-cm knife.

Other attendants in the car park came to capture the two men and called police.

The district's police confirmed the attack and said they are investigating.

The manager of the parking lot, a man surnamed Cui, was quoted by Beijing Times as saying that the two men had a dispute with security guards in the nearby building and may have thought Wang was one of the employees of that building.

Cui also said Wang was discharged from hospital on Monday and added Wang's relatives had made an agreement with the two, saying the two will compensate them more than 100,000 yuan ($15,700), the report added.
