The Ministry of Culture will present more than 230 shows in August to celebrate the upcoming 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China.
The shows will feature performances by more than 85 art troupes from around the country, including Peking Opera, children dramas and musicals and dancing, at venues such as the National Center for Performing Arts, Chang'an Grand Theater and Capital Theater.
Established and young artists will share the stages. It is estimated that more than 200,000 people will watch the shows.
More than half of the tickets will be priced at less than 100 yuan ($15.70), which will attract larger crowds to the theaters.
