My name is Zhou Qinyi, I am 11-years-old. I'm a primary school student in Shucheng county, Anhui province. Days ago I visited a farm and saw lotuses; it occurred to me that I could try to sell them to make money. So I borrowed 20 yuan from my uncle and bought 20 odd lotuses. The next day I tried to sell them at a market. I waited and waited, after half an hour passed no one had bought my lotuses. I was feeling a bit depressed and then finally an elderly lady bought one. Then the customers started flowing one after another. I sold all my lotuses in an hour and a half. In total I earned 17 yuan on top of what it cost to buy them. The next day I earned another 23 yuan. Though I was being vendor only just a few hours, I learnt how difficult it was to earn money. (Photo taken on July 29)[Photo/Xinhua] |
