A woman was killed by two robbers in the parking lot of the Shenzhen public security bureau on Wednesday afternoon.
According to Thursday's Southern Metropolis Daily, a resident surnamed Liu found the woman lying on the ground at a public parking lot of the building's entry-exit certificate service hall at 3:10 pm.
Next to her body was a BMW X6, and the handle of the driver's door had blood on it. The car floor next to it has two bloody footprints.
The woman was declared dead by the ambulance doctor at about 4:25 pm.
The Shenzhen public security bureau said on its official Sina Weibo micro blog on Wednesday that after the bureau got a report of the crime, policemen arrived immediately and caught one of the suspected robbers.
The blog said the suspect, surnamed Cao, is a 24-year-old from East China's Jiangxi province.
He confessed that when he and the other robber saw the victim go to her car, they followed her and tried to rob her of her handbag. But she resisted, so they cut her throat with a knife they had with them.
Police said the handbag was retrieved, and they are searching for the other attacker.
