BEIJING - An earthquake measuring 5.2 on the Richter scale jolted Atux city in the Kizilsu Kirgiz autonomous prefecture in Northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region at 5:34 pm Saturday Beijing Time, according to the China Earthquake Networks Center (CENC).

The epicenter, with a depth of about 9 km, was at 40.0 degrees north latitude and 78.2 degrees east longitude.
