A murder suspect fleeing police for 18 years was caught in Lushui county, Yunnan province, yunnan.cn reported on Aug 16.
The man, surnamed Wei from Anhui province, is believed to have killed two people in Puxian county, Shanxi province in June, 1994, and in Penglai, Shandong province in Aug, 2003.
Wei used the fake name of Jing Dayou and had lived in Lushui county's Manying village since April 2005, where he married a woman in 2010.
After being caught by police, Wei confessed that he killed the two people and said that he fled to Shandong, Zhejiang and Yunnan provinces for work and living.
'I thought police couldn't find me as I lived in a remote village with a fake name 18 years after the first murder," Wei said.
The suspect will be transferred soon to police in Shandong province.
