The two airports in Shanghai have launched a real-name authentication system for Wi-Fi users in their area, according to public security regulations.

Wireless users in the Pudong International Airport and Hongqiao Airport can log onto the network in the waiting halls after getting a password through a free text message or by scanning their identity cards, the Shanghai Airport Authority said.

Printed instructions about how to use the Wi-Fi services are available free in the airports.
