German Chancellor Angela Merkel is to visit China from next Thursday to Friday at the invitation of Premier Wen Jiabao.
The two leaders will co-chair a second round of inter-governmental consultation during her two-day visit, according to the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Thursday.
The two countries decided to establish an inter-governmental consultation mechanism during Wen's visit to Germany last year.
The upcoming visit will be Merkel's sixth visit to China since she became chancellor in 2005.
