10 dead in van-truck collision in SW China

CHENGDU - Ten people were killed and two others injured when a van crashed into a truck Sunday afternoon in Southwest China's Sichuan province, local authorities said.

The van, with 12 people on board, hit the truck at around 1:30 pm on the Hurong Expressway in the city of Guang'an, said officials with the Sichuan Provincial Administration of Work Safety. The expressway connects Shanghai Municipality in the east coast with the city of Chengdu in Southwest China.
The injured people have been sent to hospital, officials said.
Police are investigating the cause of the accident.
