XI'AN - Five people died and eight others were injured after a farm vehicle overturned on a mountain road in Northwest China's Shaanxi province on Sunday night, local authorities said on Monday.
Officials from the Longxian county government said the accident happened at about 7:50 pm, when a three-wheeler overturned after going out of control on a downhill ramp near the village of Yejiashan.
The officials said four of the 12 people onboard the vehicle died at the scene, while another person succumbed on the way to a local hospital.
An initial probe indicated that a brake failure may have caused the accident.
