Rain forecast for most parts of China

BEIJING - Rain will fall on most parts of China over the next three days, causing strong winds and temperature declines, the country's meteorological authority forecast on Friday.
Strong rain will pelt parts of Guizhou, Hunan, Jiangxi, Zhejiang, Fujian provinces as well as Tibet autonomous region from Friday to Sunday, according to a statement posted on the website of the National Meteorological Center.
Light to moderate rain is forecast for the country's northern and northeastern parts, Inner Mongolia and Xinjiang Uygur autonomous regions. Temperatures in these areas will fall by four to six degrees Celsius over the next three days, according to the statement.
Meanwhile, the center said that Jelawat, the 17th tropical storm of the year, was located 13.4 north latitude and 131.6 east longitude at 2 am.
Jelawat is expected to move southwestward at a speed of 5 km per hour, and will have no effect on the country's offshore waters over the next three days, said the statement.
