One-month flower festival set to begin

The 30th China Kaifeng Chrysanthemums Cultural Festival will start in the city of Kaifeng, Henan province, on Oct 18, and the 22nd China Cook Festival will start there on Oct 20, the Kaifeng government said on Sept 21 at a news conference in Beijing.
According to Ji Bingwei, mayor of Kaifeng, the two festivals, which will feature various kinds of cultural events and cooking contests, will exhibit the regional cultural of the city over the course of a month.
"All of these events are aimed at promoting the city's image and bringing gigantic economic, social and cultural benefits to Kaifeng," he said.
