A kindergarten child abuse case in Zhejiang province triggered an online wave of criticism on Oct 24, reported China News Service.
The teacher, Yan Yanhong, was videotaped holding a boy up by his ears, and the video was posted online.
The boy in the video was raised about 20 centimeters off the floor and appears to be in pain, but the teacher is smiling.

When asked why she did that, Yan said it was "for fun".
The incident happened at the private Blue Peafowl Kindergarten in Wenling city in Zhejiang province.
The local education bureau and police have started their investigation, and Yan has been fired.
It was confirmed that Yan has no qualification for the post.
All teachers at private and public schools must have qualification before being hired, said Teng Linhua, vice-director of the Wenling Education Bureau.
But local kindergartens are short of teachers, and only 40 percent of them are qualified, Teng added.
