Official arrested for alleged corruption

A county official in Ningqiang county of Hanzhong city, Shaanxi province in Northwest China, has been arrested on charges of corruption, Hanzhong city procurator's office confirmed to China Daily.
According to Hanzhong city procurator's office, the county official named Zhou Xuanzhao, former secretary of the county’s land bureau Party committee, had been arrested. No information on how much money he allegedly received from corruption was revealed because the investigation is still going on.
Xi'an Evening News reported on Tuesday that an officer with the bureau said Zhou was taken away by prosecutors in September. According to the report, previous online posts suggested that Zhou was investigated for corruption involving some 10 million yuan ($1.61 million).
