Promoting political integrity, which is a major issue of great concern to the people, is a clear-cut and long-term commitment of the Party.

Unhealthy institutions will lead to all sorts of corruption creeping in. To ensure the CPC remains healthy, the Party's new helmsman Xi Jinping called for political colleagues to "conduct ourselves honorably" shortly after the new leadership was elected last month. The Party also pledged to reject extravagance and reduce bureaucratic work style to win public support.

Spurred by new leaders' resolve to fight corruption, China's micro blog users, numbering more than 300 million, have used the Internet to out-corrupt local officials.

The recent fall of several low-and mid-level officials in the country was caused by online muckrakers who used China's popular social networking websites to reveal their victims' scandalous behavior.

Online tip-offs have become a new feature in the country's corruption fight, which has entered a different stage and turned into a public war against graft.

Those exposed by Internet whistle blowers who found the initial clues led to ensuing investigations, with disciplinary authorities combating corruption with greater efforts.

Besides hardworking online muckrakers, China's corruption battle needs enhanced legal and institutional guarantees, which will also prevent online rumor spreading, malicious defamation, false or misleading revelations and violations of citizens' privacy.

China urgently needs to improve its corruption punishment and prevention system to meet the people's demand for justice.

Unremitting efforts should be made to combat corruption, promote integrity and stay vigilant against degeneration so as to ensure that officials are honest, the government is clean and political integrity is upheld.
