A man surnamed Liu has been detained on suspicion of killing a policeman on Sunday with a self-made bomb in Boluo county, Guangdong province, local police said.
Huizhou police said in a statement on its micro blog that Liu stabbed two people in a local street at about 4:30 pm on Sunday.
When police arrived at the scene, Liu resisted the arrest and set off a self-made bomb, injuring five police officers.
A seriously wounded officer was declared dead after he was sent to hospital.
Police said that Liu had conflicts with the two persons he stabbed because of his adopted daughter.
