Apart from easing traffic congestion, the new services will provide improved access to scenic spots and places of interest. Here are three of them:
1. Nanluoguxiang, Line 6
As one of the oldest neighborhoods in the capital, Nanluoguxiang - or, literally, south drum alley, is a must- see for the capital's residential buildings.
Stretching some 800 meters from north to south with several east-west hutong, or alleyways, Nanluoguxiang used to be where the wealthy lived. Nowadays, bars and dozens of specialty stores, including handicraft and clothing shops, have sprung up in this ancient thoroughfare. For those yearning for a real insight into the area, Nanluoguxiang is not to be missed.
