Chinese president appoints 5 new ambassadors

BEIJING - Chinese President Xi Jinping has appointed five new ambassadors to foreign countries, according to a statement issued by the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC) on Monday.

Xi made the appointments in line with decisions made by the Standing Committee of the NPC, China's top legislature.

Jiang Jiang was appointed ambassador to Lebanon, replacing Wu Zexian.

Fu Huaqiang was appointed ambassador to Djibouti, replacing Zhang Guoqing.

Zheng Zhuqiang was appointed ambassador to the Republic of Botswana, replacing Liu Huanxing.

Ou Boqian was appointed ambassador to Grenada, replacing Xu Jianguo.

Huang Xingyuan was appointed ambassador to the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, replacing Yang Youming.
