Chinese officials meet with Kissinger

BEIJING - Chinese Vice President Li Yuanchao and Vice Chairman of the Central Military Commission Fan Changlong met with former US Secretary of State Henry Kissinger, respectively, on Monday.
During his meeting with Kissinger, Li hailed the former US official's important role in developing China-US ties. He said China is ready to make joint efforts with the United States to build a new type of relations featuring equality, mutual trust, tolerance, mutual learning, mutual benefit and win-win situation.
Earlier on Monday, Fan met with the former secretary of state and called for closer cooperation and stronger mutual trust to advance the relationship between the two militaries as well as the two countries in a healthy and stable way.
During the meetings, Kissinger said he will continue to make a contribution to the development of the bilateral ties.
