H7N9 patient discharged from hospital

ZHENGZHOU - A 65-year-old H7N9 patient in Central China's Henan province was discharged from hospital on Tuesday afternoon after being successfully treated in a local hospital.
A farmer surnamed Zhang, a native of Chuanhui District of Zhoukou city developed symptoms of fever, cough and muscle pain on April 8. Zhang was sent to a hospital in Zhoukou city two days later.
He was tested positive for the H7N9 bird flu virus by the provincial disease control and prevention center on April 11 and confirmed as a H7N9 infection case on April 14.
After treatment and examination, Zhang's health met the standards of the National Health and Family Planning Commission, and he was discharged.
According to the local health department, the conditions of another two infected patients' in the province are stable.
Also on Tuesday, east China's Shandong Province reported a 36-year-old construction materials wholesaler was confirmed to be infected with the H7N9 avian influenza virus, the first case reported in the province.
