A nationwide competition for industrial design has been launched in Guangzhou, the capital of Guangdong province, with an aim to build a platform between small and medium-sized enterprises and design institutes.
The competition, launched by China Industrial Design Association, Southern Weekend and Made-in-China, will invite representatives from overseas commerce chambers and buyers to the Canton Fair as judges, organizers said.
“The competition will help change the stereotyped impression for products of ‘made-in-China’ and promote development of China’s manufacturing industry,” said Shen Jinhua, president of Made-in-China, a Chinese B2B online service provider.
