China Central Television’s international channel launched the 200-episode documentary, Journey to Thousands of Mountains and Rivers.
The episodes will zoom in on the lives of people living in the less frequented mountainous and riverside areas.
The first five episodes will take audiences to the lost horizons of Yunnan province, such as a village in the depth of Gaoligong mountain and the undisturbed lives along the roaring Nujiang river.
In addition to a variety of natural landscapes, cultural customs and inspiring profiles, audiences will also be able to see how people have been trying to maintain their traditions as modernity slowly encroaches.
The documentary is part of the Home Faraway series that has won wide acclaim.
