A male student nurse jumped to his death in Sichuan province amid speculation he was depressed as he was the only one male student on campus, China News Service reported on Thursday.

The student, 22, from a nursing school in Luzhou city plunged to his death around 7 am on Thursday morning, the report said.

Police said they decided not to investigate further as evidence, including a note the student left before his death, proved it was a suicide, the report said.

Students at the campus believed the dead student was depressed and lonely in his environment.

The police added they contacted the dead man's parents, who both are migrant workers.
