Students from China and UK share views

Sixteen college students delegates from China and the UK shared their opinions on international education and internationalization at the 2013 UK-China Student Forum in Peking University on Tuesday.

"With such transcultural and international experience, students from both China and the UK may have a chance to show themselves on the international arena in the future," said Wu Yuanyuan, the British Embassy's director of educational promotion.

The weeklong forum, which opened on Monday, aims to provides a platform for students to actively engage in the issues surrounding the internationalization of education. It was proposed by the Cultural and Education Section of the British Embassy and organized by China Youth Daily and Guanghua School of Management of Peking University.

It is also part of a "Generation UK" project that seeks to further promote study and internship opportunities in China to students in the UK.

"Academic discussions should be carried out at all levels between China and the UK, as these discussions will lay the foundation for future dialogues and cooperation," said Sue Milner, education director of the British Council in China, at the opening ceremony of the forum.
