The selection of award recipients for scientific research achievement in poverty alleviation will begin soon, and the results will be announced on Oct 17, National Poverty Alleviation Day.
The awards are sponsored by the poverty relief office of the State Council and undertaken by the China Social Entrepreneur Foundation to improve the lagging development of China's poverty alleviation research.
Any writers of theoretical or applied-research papers published between January 2011 and December 2013 can apply for this reward. Five winners will each get an award of 300,000 yuan ($48,830).
A 28-member committee will be responsible for the selections, and the results will be checked and approved by the State Council.
The award was set up in 2011, and the selection takes place every two years.
