The Beijing municipal government's 3-year-old household waste-sorting campaign now has 2,400 communities in the capital carrying out energy-saving recycling measures, with another 600 to follow suit this year, the government said.
Wang Qingwen, a publicity official at Beijing Municipal Commission of City Administration and Environment, said on May 16 that the government will provide each household and community with containers for recycling household wastes, which are sorted into recyclables, such as paper and metals; kitchen waste; and other waste.
